Champagne Olivier HORIOT, Les Riceys, RM

Exceptional artisanal producer of finest wines with great character and energy

The talented young wine maker Olivier Horiot is located in Les Riceys, Côte des Bar. On only 8.5 hectares he produces superb champagnes beautifully illustrating the terroir and its character. The wines are certified biodynamic and contain a majority of Pinot Noir, but Olivier Horiot also utilises historical grape varieties such as Pinot Gris (Fromenteau), Petit Meslier, Arbanne and Pinot Blanc.

The domain has belonged to the same family for several generations. The villages that make up Les Riceys is closer to Chablis with similar Kimmeridgium limestone soil, the northern Champagne with Reims and Epernay is 180km away.

Olivier Horiot has succeeded in producing innovative and unusual wines from biodynamic viticulture and natural processes, making superb champagnes with a strong personality.
