Since Jacquesson has moved to the philosophy of only releasing the 700 series wine every year, they decided to hold some back each year for an extended aging period on the lees and to release this wine as "Dégorgement Tardif" 5 years later.
The intensely white-golden colored NV Cuvée No 738 Dégorgement Tardif Extra-Brut is based on the 2010 vintage and includes roughly 30% of reserve wines. It was aged for 96 months on the lees before the disgorgement in June 2019. The bouquet is rich and aromatic yet very fine, showing a nice oxidative style and refreshing citrus flavors. The palate is highly elegant, finessed, well-balanced and quite charming, and there is no analytical sweetness except for the dosage of 0.75 grams per liter. The 738 DT has enough fruit and roundness. The finish is pure, fresh and salty but also juicy. Quite lean.
Very limited with only 14'910 bottles and 741 magnums produced.
