Grower producer family Gimonnet is based in Cuis since 1750. With 29 hectars in 1er Cru and Grand Cru locations Gimonnet is synonym with the great Chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs and Blanc de Blancs is the true signature of the House. Old vines (the oldes ones from 1911 and 1913) are deeply rooted in the chalky soils, that how their terroir can be best described. Gimonnet only uses their own grapes, truely for a grower producer. Exerience as well as the love for great Champagne were handed down through gernerations. Nothing is left to chance. All reserve wines are kept in bottles (with low pressure) an extremely rare technique in Champagne. The wines are complex, balanced, with fine elegance and unique mineral freshness, the recognizable Gimonnet style that clearly reveals its origins. As quotes by the producer : These champagnes are made for pleasure!
Gimonnet is also a founding member of the Club Trésors de Champagne (also known as Special Club) which was founded in 1971 by 12 of the oldest families of the Champagne wine region. The Special Club designated Champagnes are the tête de cuvée of each producer. Special Club Champagnes must be produced, bottled and aged at the member's estate, including a minimum of three years aging on lees. The purpose of the club is to highlight the unique terroir of each family holding.
