Named after the present owner's great-grandfather, this Champagne comes from a selection of the best parcels in Venteuil (Marne Valley), home to the grumier family since generations. The ancestor-grandfather Amand already kept part of his harvest in 1928 to vinify his Champagne himself.
This Prestige Champagne is a return to its roots, a classic assemblage of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir with vinification in small oak barrels. Regular stirring of the lees, no filtration and long aging in bottles make this Champagne unique in its complexity. Dosage extra-brut 3g/l.
From a great vintage, the wine is ripe and textured, showing some toastiness while still guarding plenty of white fruits. Intense on the nose but retains a nice freshness and minerality.
