Merge of two unique terroirs; Chouilly and Ay, from old vines.
Blend: 50% Chardonnay Grand Cru Chouilly , 50% Pinot Noir Grand Cru Ay
Dosage : extra-brut
Steven Spurrier Score: 95
Very fine light yellow/white gold, brilliant clarity and discreetly persistent mousse; lovely combination of faintly citrusy Chardonnay and light red Pinot Noir fruits on the nose, which repays attention before going onto the palate, where the Pinot seems to dominate with breadth of fruit, the Chardonnay bringing the linear elements, both complimentary and harmonious and very plainly from Grand Cru vineyards; potential creaminess of texture, youthful and elegantly vigourous on the finish, a wine that can age for a decade in bottle.
James Suckling Score 93
An assemblage of Chouilly chardonnay and Aÿ pinot noir delivering a fresh, vinous style with an array of berry, lemon and peach-pastry aromas. Wonderful, fleshy shape and super fresh finish.
White fruit variously translated on the nose. The part associated with apple is likely derived from the Chardonnay, while the sweetness of white peach and mirabelle is due to the Pinot Nero. The mouth is more apple tonalities completed by a mix of citrus and salt that gives dynamism and length.
