The Butte of Saran is a famous landmark of the Côte de Blancs and is what is known in geological terms as an ‘outlier,’ a freestanding hill that has been separated from the main part of a cuesta by erosion. The village of Cramant itself is nestled in the small valley that lies between the cuesta and the butte. Les Terres des Buissons wrap around the base of the Butte de Saran, therefore an amazing location for a grand lieux-dits resting on chalky, deep and mineral soil, resonating in balance with the oaks of the Argonne forest.

This is the wine succeeding VARIANCE sous bois which Bonnaire used to sell as a NV blend of several plots.
