Champagne Eric Rodez, bio grower producer (RM), Ambonnay
Grand Cru champagne from certified organic farming
On only 6 hectares of vineyards in the Montagne de Reims at Grand Cru Ambonnay, Eric Rodez grows and processes exclusively his own Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. His grapes are grown completely ecologically, without the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides. He is also committed to biodynamic cultivation and was awarded towards this as the first winemaker of Champagne.
Eric Rodez, is the former cellar master at Champagne Krug. He masters the art of assembling like no one else. Every year he receives about 60 wines from his grapes, which he grows separately. About 80 percent of Eric Rodez wines are made in wooden barrels through usage of the malolactic fermentation. By blending separately prepared wines, a higher complexity is achieved. Annual production appr. 45'000 bottles.
Champagne Eric Rodez is certified both as Bio (Biologic Agriculture) and HVE “High Environmental Value” (“Haute Valeur Environnementale”).
