Cuvée N° 744 DT Extra-Brut

2016 vintage-based Cuvée 744 Dégorgement Tardif

 

Since Jacquesson has moved to the philosophy of only releasing the 700 series wine every year, they decided to hold some back each year for an extended aging period on the lees with natural cork (sous-liège) and to release this wine as "Dégorgement Tardif" 5 years later.  

Cuvée No 742 DT is based on the 2014 vintage and includes roughly 20% of reserve wines. It was aged for 96 months on the lees with natural cork (sous-liège) before the disgorgement in April 2023. The bouquet is rich and aromatic yet very fine, showing a nice oxidative style and refreshing citrus flavors. The palate is highly elegant, finessed, well-balanced and quite charming, and there is no analytical sweetness except for the dosage of no more than 0.5 grams per liter. The 742 DT has enough fruit and roundness. The finish is pure, fresh and salty but also juicy. Quite lean.

Only 17'980 bottles were produced.
