Champagne Meunier et Meslier is a Rosé de Saignée Millésime 2016 Brut Nature
In 2016, Aurélien Laherte harvested his first pure Petit Meslier, one of the rare and rarely grown grape varieties. Since the Champagne suffered a severe frost this spring, only 300kg of grapes could be harvested from the 1,830 young Petit Meslier vines. In addition, there were another 300kg Meunier grapes from a Meunier plot that was also only very light-bearing. This was mixed with the Petit Meslier
The maceration lasted a whole day, the wine processing took place slowly in oak barrels and the bottling took place in April 2017. 36 months maturation on the yeast. Disgorged in March 2020 without dosage.
This cuvée was produced in a very small edition of only 336 bottles:
• As a reminder of the difficult 2016 season and the passionate work
• To understand and in praise of the magical Petit Meslier grape variety
